Ethiopia is truly a land of contrasts and home of the oldest civilizations it covers an area of 1,133,380 sq. km (437,600 sq. mi). Some of the highest and most magnificent places like the rugged Simien Mountains to the Danakil Depression at 120 meters below sea level which is one of the lowest points on earth with its Sulphur fumaroles and lunar-like landscape are found here. Ethiopia used to be known as Abyssinia, its culture and traditions dating back over 3,000 years. And far earlier than that was home of humankind “Lucy” or Dinkenesh, meaning “you are marvelous” was discovered that completed the missing link to understand Human Evolution.
